Gentlemen,
With reference to your letter of the
8th Ultimo / Kong 12342, enquiring whether the Elder Brethren can recommend any candidate for appointment as Light House Keeper at Hong Kong,
I am directed to aquaint you that the Board can recommend H. Fishburn, Assistant Keeper, as suitable
for this appointment.
Fishburn who is just 30 years of age (born 3rd December, 1893) entered the Trinity House Service on 15th February, 1915 and is married with one child aged 2 years (it is understood, however, that his wife has quite recently had another child).
I am accordingly to request that, in order that the necessary arrangements may be made for his relief from the Light House at which he is at present stationed, you will inform me on what date it is desired that he should present himself at your Department for approval and whether he is to be specially medically examined.
I am further to state that in view of the exigencies of this Service the Board will be obliged to make a fresh appointment in the place of Fishburn as soon as possible, and this will necessitate his being paid off from the date of his formal approval.
